Wave #0 [Dev Diary]

In the beginning 

Over the next few days I will lay the foundation for the rest of the game to sit smoothly on.

That will be the following
  • GUI Scaling:  Allows the game to run on all monitor sizes without any misplaced elements.(Text, buttons, enemies etc.)
  • Main Menu: Start a rough layout for what the main menu will look like and sub menus(Options, Stats, etc)
  • In Game GUI: Design and implement the GUI that will show the player all relevant information the the game match.(Health, Wave, Kills, etc)
  • In Game Pausing: Create the functionality for pausing the game and start pause menu
  • Wave Function #1: This will be allowing the wave to count up and have a countdown/pause opportunity(Can not mid wave pause).
  • Wave Function #2: Create functionality for importing wave designs
  • Create Wave Designer

Wave Designer

This will be a tool that will be its own program to create waves for the game fast and edit the variables for the wave and create them on the screen rather than having them done in code each time. I will not shine to much light on this little tool right now but I will be spending a good chunk of time on this part initially. I will show it off when we get to creating waves and things along that line.


I am committed to making this game and finishing it as its not too big of a project and look forward to that day but for now what I need is as much input and feedback as possible along the way so follow along and follow the game as we make this happen.

I am no artist so that will be something that happens at its own pace but I have an idea of what I want the game to look and feel like and I will share that more as we get into it. This post was just to let you know what was going on RIGHT NOW beyond just the plans in a whole scope.
